  • NEW! Introduction to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder — Sept. 10, 1 to 3 p.m.
    This course helps participants understand the short- and long-term impact on children exposed to substances prenatally. This includes FASD and issues that may be present if parents use(d) substances, and medical issues that can arise due to substance exposure, including higher risk of later addiction. The genetic component of addiction and addiction as a chronic disease is described. This course also shares parenting strategies for children exposed to substances prenatally. Register Here 
  • NEW! Trauma Informed Parenting — Sept. 10, 5 to 8 p.m. This course helps participants learn the three Rs (Regulate, Relate, Reason) and other practical trauma-informed parenting strategies. Participants will learn to recognize the importance of finding activities to have fun with children; recognize the importance of connected parenting and the relationship as the foundational cornerstone; understand how to promote healthy behaviors; and recognize the importance of a parent’s self-regulation. Back to School we go!

School is often a challenge for children with a history of trauma and it can be challenging to all involved to help kids succeed. This training provides tips and guidance on how professionals and caregivers can help children ease back into school, especially if there are learning or behavioral challenges, and/or the child or youth is in a new placement.
