The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is committed to preventing further involvement in the Child Welfare system by providing early learning support and resources.
The Office of Tribal Relations has made available a Tribal Child Welfare Early Learning Navigator (CWELN) whose primary objective is to improve the effectiveness of Indian child welfare case planning by promoting a culturally sensitive integrated approach to problem-solving and decision-making for tribal children aged birth to 5 and their families. The Tribal CWELN works in partnership with tribes by sharing culturally relevant information and early learning resources.
The Tribal CWELN can also provide statewide consultation on addressing developmental issues and guiding families through what resources are available within their local community.
