Housing and Homelessness Prevention (HHP) Programs

DCYF Housing and Homelessness Prevention (HHP) Programs exist to provide a range of housing services and support for youth and families that have child welfare or other system of care involvement.  The goal of these services is to ensure a lack of adequate housing is not a contributing factor in out-of-home placements and that young people have the support and opportunities they need to secure and maintain stable housing upon exiting systems of care.

The HHP team provides oversight, support, and technical assistance to providers, system professionals, Tribes, and partners statewide regarding HHP services and programs. Each of the  following services are provided to youth and families based on specified eligibility criteria.

If you are a family or young person in need of housing resources and do not meet the eligibility criteria specified for each resource below, that does NOT mean you are ineligible for any housing assistance. You might still be eligible for housing assistance provided through other agencies, your local Coordinated Entry (CE) site, and/or Office of Homeless Youth (OHY) funded service providers.  In all cases, DCYF will need to verify program eligibility before housing assistance can be offered.
