An early implementation workgroup that includes community caregivers, group care providers, child placing agencies, and Office of Tribal Relations was created to identify current barriers for providers who work in the foster care space.
The group came up with recommendations that can be made now to enhance practice and create a supportive environment for youth in foster care. Making these changes now will lay a strong foundation for when new WACs take effect in 2026 (as part of the Foster Care Amendment process).
