DCYF Transfers 43 Young People with Adult Sentences to DOC to Address Security at Green Hill
This afternoon, the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) transferred 43 young people with adult sentences from Green Hill School to the Department of Corrections (DOC). The transfers are part of DCYF’s ongoing efforts to address safety concerns arising from the rapidly growing population at Juvenile Rehabilitation (JR) facilities.
Reminder: Working Connections Child Care Provider Rate Increases Effective July 2024
Working Connections Child Care (WCCC) provider rates increases went into effect on July 1, 2024. Increases are in effect for licensed family homes, centers, and Family, Friends, and Neighbor child care. Rates can be found at the Getting Help Paying for Child Care webpage.
DCYF Suspends Entries at Green Hill, Echo Glen
DCYF suspended intakes at Echo Glen Children’s Center in Snoqualmie and Green Hill School in Chehalis on July 5, in an effort to stabilize a rising population that is compromising the safety of staff and young people served at the juvenile rehabilitation facilities.
