Green Hill School Receives Accreditation for Healthcare
Green Hill School has officially earned the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare accreditation for meeting or exceeding national health care standards.
The accreditation means GHS staff are providing young people with the same or better medical, mental, dental, and vision services than they would receive in their communities.
New State Laws Help Open Doors to More Child Care Access
Great news! Recent legislation reduces barriers to early education and child care providers.
Individuals wanting to become licensed child care providers, and community organizations, such as churches, seeking to use existing facilities for child care programs, can benefit from local siting and zoning changes aimed to expand places where child care can be made available.
Region 6 Port Townsend Office Closed July 23
DCYF’s Region 6 Port Townsend Office is closed Wednesday, July 23, 2025, to the public due to a facilities issue. Staff are available remotely via phone and email.
SR 18 Closure to Impact Echo Glen Visitors
Starting July 17, SR 18 near Echo Glen will be closed until 5:00 a.m. July 25. Staff, contractors, and visitors should expect delays and additional travel time when making plans to go to Echo Glen during the closure.
During this time, the Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will have alternate routes marked by detour signs.
