Who Does ECLIPSE Help?
Early Childhood Intervention Prevention Services (ECLIPSE) helps children and families who are dealing with stress and need support from different services or programs. This includes:
- Families with an open DCYF child welfare case who:
- Are dealing with serious stress or difficult situations; and/or
- Have a referral for ECEAP services.
- Children who have been removed from other early learning programs.
- Families referred by a doctor, public health nurse, and other community professional.
- Children and families who have experienced trauma.
How Families are Referred
Children and families can be referred to ECLIPSE services by:
- DCYF Child Welfare Early Learning Navigators (CWELNs)
- DCYF or Indian Child Welfare (ICW) social workers
- Doctors or primary care providers
- Public health nurses
- Economic Services Administration (ESA) social workers
- Family members or community members
ECLIPSE Services Include
- Enrollment in ECEAP programs.
- Screening for children’s social, emotional, and behavior needs.
- Screening caregivers for stress or depression, if needed.
- Family strengths and needs assessments. The assessment looks at parent-child relationships, family stress, and family strengths.
- Team meetings with different professionals.
- A Family Care Plan (FCP) created with parents or caregivers, mental health professionals, ECEAP staff, and other support workers.
- Transportation support.
- Help from infant and early childhood mental health professionals through home visits, family support, and teacher support when needed.
- Planning for transitions or discharge from services.
