Engagement

The Permanency From Day 1 (PFD1) Grant focuses on engagement of family, youth, family supports, tribes, and key participants, early on and often, through a collaborative teaming approach.

Enhanced permanency planning meetings will be held approximately every 90 days, which allows families the opportunity to direct their case planning and increases the family’s opportunity to provide for their child(ren)/youth’s needs. Enhanced permanency planning meetings support and empower families throughout the life of the case while recognizing the family as experts, improving child(ren)/youth safety and well-being, and achieving timely permanency.

Enhanced permanency planning meetings also aim to increase monthly visits between parent/caseworkers and caregivers/caseworkers. In doing so, it is likely to increase timeliness to permanency, increase family connections, increase kinship placements, and improve alignment between youth and family needs/services.
