Family, Friend, and Neighbor Providers

Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) providers help families by taking care of children. They can be grandparents, aunts and uncles, older siblings, friends, neighbors, or other trusted adults. FFN providers are important for children’s growth and learning.

FFN care is the most common type of child care for babies, toddlers, and school-age children before and after school.

To learn more, visit the FFN webpage.

Training Requirements

FFN providers must complete certain trainings if they care for children who get state subsidy. Most trainings need to be finished within 90 days after the child starts receiving the subsidy.
