Integrated Developmental Evaluation and Assessment (IDEA): |
The IDEA is a 130-item Risk, Needs and Responsivity assessment comprised of both static and dynamic factors designed to identify youth’s risk and needs upon entry to Juvenile Rehabilitation, and throughout their commitment, with reassessment every 90 days. The IDEA is utilized in treatment planning, and identification and access to services including Community Transition Services as legislated by HB 1186. |

This tool is used for youth who have sexually offended who are on parole. It determines whether to extend their parole past 24 months (up to 90 days at a time) to 36 months as allowed in statute RCW 13.40.210 (3)(a). It is completed by the regional Sex Offender Treatment Coordinator in collaboration with a youth’s community sex offender treatment provider. |

This WSSORLC provides a risk level classification recommendation to law enforcement for community notification purposes. The End of Sentence Review Committee (ESRC) outlined in RCW 72.09.345 requires review of all juveniles with a registerable sex offense, whether committed to JR or not, to make a level recommendation to law enforcement. |
