One of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families’ (DCYF) strategic goals is to “create a high-quality integrated Birth-8 system.”

In support of this priority, DCYF’s Office of Innovation, Alignment, and Accountability (OIAA) has released two new interactive Early Learning data dashboards, available now on the DCYF website.

The Child Care and Early Learning Need and Supply Dashboard displays the estimated need for Early Care and Education (ECE) in Washington state and how much of that need is currently being met by state and federal programs. Maps can be filtered by level of geography, household income, and age group.

The Child Care and Early Learning Extreme Child Care Access Deserts (ECCAD) & Uptake Estimates Dashboard displays areas that have too few licensed early learning providers for the estimated population of children by eligibility category, as well as the estimated rate of children receiving Early Care and Education (ECE) services compared to the total population of eligible children.

These products are part of a group of Early Learning Dashboards designed to support DCYF external partners and the public to inform policy and practice.
