The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) will partner with the Roca Impact Institute (RII), to provide Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at Harbor Heights, the new Juvenile Rehabilitation (JR) facility in Aberdeen.
RII is an organization dedicated to improving the outcomes for young people, RII staff will train and coach JR staff to use RII’s specialized CBT approach at the Harbor Heights facility. Unlike traditional CBT, RII’s Rewire CBT is a not limited to a clinical setting, which increases access young people by allowing trained frontline staff to provide support. This skills-based intervention helps young people heal from trauma and learn skills to regulate emotions.

Harbor Heights is a Juvenile Rehabilitation Facility operated by DCYF and located near Grays Harbor. The young men at Harbor Heights will learn leadership skills and have an opportunity to earn peer mentorship certification before transitioning to another facility or the community.
