Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) is a program for parents involved in the child welfare system that honors traditional Indigenous ways of raising children.  

Olympia, WA — A 12-year-old member of the Suquamish Tribe will be showing off her softball skills at the May 3 Mariners game where she will throw the ceremonial first pitch as part of an annual event during Foster Care Month.

November 1 marks the beginning of Native American Heritage Month (NAHM), which is celebrated every year to honor and celebrate the culture, traditions, history, and contributions of American Indians and Alaska Natives. This celebration is an opportunity to educate ourselves and better understand the history of our nation and its people.
