Positive Indian Parenting (PIP) is a program for parents involved in the child welfare system that honors traditional Indigenous ways of raising children.
PIP is for Native parents, caregivers, and anyone caring for Native children birth to 18 years old. Most PIP programs meet once a week for eight to 10 weeks. Programs are offered in ways that work for families, like in-person classes, online, or individually at home.
The program helps them strengthen and build on cultural parenting, values, strengths, and confidence.
