The Washington State Partnership Council on Justice (WA-PCJJ) is a state advisory group. The Council works to improve outcomes for young people inside and those at risk of entering the juvenile justice system.
The Council has 26 members, all appointed by the Governor. Five of the members must be under the age of 28 when they join the Council. DCYF provides staff support to the Council through the Office of Juvenile Justice.
The Council is responsible for working with the Office of Juvenile Justice to implement the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act (JJDPA). The Council’s goals are to:
- Improve youth justice,
- Eliminate racial and ethnic disparities,
- Improve community safety, and

Some of the Council’s current objectives include:
- Increasing access to legal services for youth.
- Funding after-school programming.
- Addressing the overrepresentation of Native Youth in the juvenile justice system by partnering with Tribes.
