Seahawks players once again surprised young people by spending the day at Echo Glen Children’s Center.

Tyler Mabry, DK Metcalf, and Noah Fant kept their promise visited Echo Glen Children's Center for holiday festivities marking the second time they visited the facility, sponsored by UPower which provides recreational opportunities at Echo Glen.

During his first visit, Defensive End Leo Williams opened up to young people about his personal experiences navigating a difficult family environment, homelessness, and the juvenile justice system. His words offered hope and motivation to young people, reminding them of their own strength.

“This was a heartwarming and memorable holiday event for the young people on our campus,” said Interim Superintendent Rebecca Kelly. “The impact of the players returning is monumental and showed the young people how much they matter during a time of year that can be difficult.”

UPower, facilitated various fun holiday activities, such as playing games, decorating holiday cookies, and opportunities for young people have impactful conversations with the players.

Tight End Tyler Mabury connected with young people over lunch and a goal setting activity. Young people wrote about their goals going into 2025.

While cookie decorating with Wide Receiver DK Metcalf, many of the young people shared handmade scrapbooks with photos of their families, friends, and cars. When asked what they would like the players to know, many shared that they are parents and were just happy that the players showed up.

“I want to build on it and continue to build personal relationships” said Wide Receiver DK Metcalf who had promised he would return following the first visit in October.

The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families would like to thank the Seahawks organization and Upower for making this event possible.
