The Dual Language Designation program is a formal way to recognize early learning programs that support children learning in more than one language. The program has recently undergone some changes to make it easier for early learning programs to participate.
Key updates:
- Sites will be able to earn a dual language designation by submitting evidence as part of the Early Achievers quality recognition cycle.
- There will be a new payment structure. Dual language funding awards will be issued to eligible sites that earn a dual language designation.
Earning a Dual Language Designation is now easier than ever through the Early Achievers Quality Recognition cycle. No-cost coaching, training, and funding are available to support eligible early learning programs. To date, DCYF has received designation requests from over 1,468 providers across the state!
Programs must meet specific requirements before they are eligible to submit an application. To help programs get started, DCYF has added easy-to-use resources to its website.
