As of 1 p.m. on Friday, May 15, all licensed child care providers serving children can apply for funding to support their business needs and expenses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funding is available on a first come, first serve basis, so we encourage you to apply early.
How to apply:
- Online: Log into the WA Compass Provider Portal and complete the application (in English).
- By Email: Print the application (available in Spanish and Somali), scan or take a picture of it completed and email it to dcyf.covid-19@dcyf.wa.gov
- By Mail: Print the form (available in Spanish and Somali), fill it out and send it through the U.S. Postal Service to DCYF, Attn: Child Care COVID-19 Grants, PO Box 40970, Olympia, WA 98504-0970

To access the grant, log into the WA Compass Provider Portal to answer a few informational questions and agree to keep offering child care through July 31, 2020.
Non-English speaking providers may submit a translated application form by email (this is the preferred method) or by U.S. Postal Service. The application is translated into Somali and Spanish and are both available in the Provider Portal and also on the DCYF website at https://www.dcyf.wa.gov/coronavirus-covid-19/early-learning.
You do not need a Statewide Vendor Identification (SWV) Number to receive the Child Care COVID-19 Grant.
Funds are available in three amounts and are based on licensed capacity as follows:

$6,500 for small (0-49) and open providers

$11,500 for medium (50-99) and open providers

$14,000 for large (100+) and open providers
