The Governor’s Office of Indian Affairs (GOIA) has published the 2024 Centennial Accord Agency Highlights report. This annual report is mandated under Washington state’s government-to-government relationship with Indian tribes (RCW 43.376). The report provides a high-level summary of the work completed by state agencies in partnership with the 29 federally recognized tribes in Washington.
The Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families (DCYF) submits agency highlights each fall to be included in the report. The full report can be accessed on GOIA’s website. Pages specific to DCYF’s contributions can be found on the Office of Tribal Relation’s Government-to-Government webpage.
Th Centennial Accord provides a framework for our state/tribal government-to-government relationship. It assures the execution of this relationship when developing policies, programs, and services that impact tribal communities.
A core guiding principle of DCYF is a commitment to collaboration and transparency. It is through DCYF’s government-to-government relationship with tribes that this guiding principle can be actualized. We are glad for our ongoing partnership with GOIA and tribal governments throughout the state of Washington.
