The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) recently created a resource guide – available in English and Spanish – to help parents and caregivers navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
In support of Governor Jay Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) at the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) continues to provide vital services and supports to families with young children across Washington.
During this COVID-19 pandemic, we have all been asked to follow Washington State’s Stay Home, Stay Healthy order, which has led to the closures of schools, dental offices, courtrooms and has even changed the way DCYF interacts with families.
The young women at Ridgeview Community Facility in Yakima have generously sewn nearly 200 masks for their neighbors in need. The masks are in particularly high demand at a local nursing home heavily impacted by the COVID-19 virus.
“We just took over and dropped off masks for them outside. They called and asked us to make them more,” said Ridgeview Administrator LeeAnn Delk.
The latest episode of DCYF’s podcast Courageous Change is now available. The podcast is designed for DCYF employees to talk about change, the process of change and how we experience transformational change.

DCYF’s We Are Family event, held in collaboration with the Seattle Mariners, has been postponed. The event was scheduled for May 3, 2020.
The youth at Echo Glen are brewing their resumes with work experience at Café Success! As part of Echo Glen’s Resident Culinary Program, Café Success provides vocational training for future baristas and the hospitality industry.
March 18, 2020 Update: The Delridge Way office is now open.
Due to water damage, the DCYF office at 4045 Delridge Way SW, Seattle, is closed until further notice for necessary facility repairs.
Some staff are teleworking today and others are being relocated to nearby offices.
