Natalie Green brings several decades of social work experience to her position as Assistant Secretary of Child Welfare. She’s worked as Regional Administrator for Region 3, which consists of Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, and San Juan Island County and spent 20 years with the Children’s Administration (now DCYF). She’s worked as a case carrying social worker, a child protective services supervisor, a regional safety consultant, an area administrator for the King West office, a deputy regional administrator, and a regional administrator. Green has a military background and worked for the federal government as a job placement/counseling specialist and an equal employment opportunity counselor.
She has a passion for the safety of children and child welfare, so naturally, this has led her to work on various projects and workgroups such as the Child Safety Framework and the organization and establishment of Washington State’s Family Assessment Response (FAR) program.
Green has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from National University – San Diego, a Master’s in Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Social Work and Public Administration Certification from Eastern Washington University.
