Bolesha Johnson started her child welfare career in May 1999 with Children’s Administration (now DCYF). She has always known she wanted to be a social worker because she loves helping people. In June 2004, after obtaining her MSW from the Child Welfare Training and Advancement Program (CWTAP) program she served in various supervisory positions across programs where she gained a strong practice foundation. Within a five-year timeframe, she enhanced her leadership and strategic skills by serving as the Accreditation Lead, Policy Implementor, Court Service Liaison, Quality Assurance Lead, and Area Administrator.
In May 2022, she was asked to serve as Interim Regional Administrator for Region 5. She adapted quickly and has strengthened her innovative and solution driven skills. Bolesha is a natural born leader and extremely committed to positively impacting the workforce which supports the families we serve. One of her favorite quotes is by Dr. Brene Brown, "I define a leader as anyone who takes responsibility for finding the potential in people and processes, and who has the courage to develop that potential”.
Her hobbies are music, dancing, skating, traveling and quiet time. She shares her life journey with her incredible husband of 32 years, her kindhearted daughter, and two beautiful granddaughters ages 9 and 13.
