Jenny Heddin began her career in state service as an intern with the Department of Commerce. She oversaw budget, policy, and performance measurement for the Housing Division from 2005-2009. At the beginning of the Great Recession, she joined the Senate Ways and Means committee as non-partisan staff. From 2009-2013 she staffed hundreds of agencies including Department of Health, Washington State Patrol, Economic Service Administration, and the Department of Early Learning. She joined Children’s Administration in 2013 as the Finance Director, overseeing budget development, contracts, and data. She served as the first Chief Financial Officer for DCYF until 2021 when she began serving as the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Collaboration.
Jenny has a deep commitment to public service. She is a second generation state employee and graduate from The Evergreen State College’s Masters in Public Administration program. She is a proud mom, including to a child on the autism spectrum, and holds close the needs of children and families in Washington State.
