Olympia – Today, the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) submitted a revised Program Improvement Plan (PIP) to the federal Children’s Bureau. The plan details the agency’s child welfare approach to improving safety, permanency and well-being outcomes for children and families, as well as significantly reducing the number of children in out-of-home care.

Olympia—The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is working in close coordination with the Walla Walla Sheriff’s Department involving Master’s Ranch - West. However, DCYF cannot comment on any investigations that may be open. Any questions about law enforcement involvement may be directed to the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Department.

Olympia – In light of some concerns from the public regarding two recent job postings by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF), the agency would like to clarify the intent of these job listings and address misinformation spreading as a result of the job description.  

Update: Through this Child Care COVID-19 Grant, DCYF provided critical support and stabilization to more than 3,600 licensed child care providers in response to the pandemic. At this time, grant funding is depleted and the grant application is no longer available.

Olympia — In an effort to maintain the quality and safety standards at foster group homes throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is currently recruiting a pool of temporary, on-call staff who can step in to work at various Behavior Rehabilitation Services (BRS) facilities across the state.

In support of Governor Jay Inslee’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order, the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP) at the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) continues to provide vital services and supports to families with young children across Washington.

Olympia — The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) will begin a new effort to recruit and retain caregivers. DCYF plans to shift its recruitment efforts to attract a diverse pool of caregivers who can meet the unique needs of children placed in out-of-home care.
