Child Care Check helps parents and families search for quality child care and early learning programs in Washington state. The information is collected by the Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) which licenses child care providers and facilities.
Child Care Check includes:
- Licensed child care, Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP), Head Start, and Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) programs
- How long the provider has been licensed
- Number and age ranges of the children the provider may care for
- Current licensing status (i.e. non-expiring, initial, probationary, open, or closed license)
- Name and contact information for the licensor
- Valid complaint findings within the last three years
- Licensing inspections for all Licensed and Certified child care providers within the last three years
- Number of slots for programs, if provided
- Providers who participate in Early Achievers, Washington's quality rating and improvement system
- The provider's Early Achievers rating and what that rating means
- Tribal and military programs
- Languages spoken and taught in programs, if provided
- Food programs and child care subsidy program participation, if provided
- A personalized statement highlighting unique qualities of the program, if provided
