Crisis Respite Tools and Resources

Parents and caregivers want the best for their children. At times, unexpected challenges can make life more difficult. When that happens, having someone trustworthy to care for their children can make a big difference.

Crisis Respite is based on the idea that every parent needs a break. These programs help meet that need, when families don’t have other safe options. Crisis Respite may also be called urgent or emergency respite or care. Some providers are known as crisis nurseries.

Crisis Respite programs offer short-term child care when families need help right away. These programs can reduce stress, support families through tough times, and help build protective factors that keep children safe and healthy.
