Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) Child Care COVID-19 Incentive

Frequently Asked Questions

Any FFN provider in Washington State that:

  • Has provided care to children receiving subsidy during the COVID-19 pandemic.

AND

  • Claims a subsidy payment for both August and September 2020, which must be claimed no later than December 4, 2020.

No. In order to be eligible for this incentive, an authorized FFN provider must have claimed a subsidy payment for both months (August and September 2020).

Payments will be processed through the Social Service Payment System (SSPS). Payments will be provided in the same way a provider currently receives subsidy payments:

  • Via U.S. Postal Service to the address associated with the SSPS number; or
  • Via electronic deposit into the bank account if already established in SSPS.

If you have claimed subsidy for August and September 2020, you will receive an incentive payment in the coming weeks. No further action is needed.

FFN providers can expect to receive payment within four weeks.

The incentive is taxable and a 1099 form will be sent at the end of the calendar year. Union dues will not be taken out of this incentive.
