Sarah joins DCYF from the Department of Social and Health Services. There, she served in the Economic Services Administration (ESA), where she filled various increasingly responsible roles since 1999. 

Sarah served in an executive leadership role as the administration’s Chief of Staff Services and Risk Management, leading ESA’s engagement in personnel, labor relations, investigations, training, risk management, torts and litigation, public disclosure, audits, internal controls, administrative policy, special projects, and other critical activities.

Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree from the Evergreen State College and a master’s degree in business administration from St. Martin’s University. She is also a Certified Diversity Executive.

When she’s not working, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and her animals. She is actively involved in animal rescue, and her family is rarely without a foster dog or cat in their lives. Sarah enjoys reading, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, riding horses, and watching her teenage children compete in various sporting events.
