Julie is the Deputy Director for Government Affairs at DCYF. She helps agency leaders with public policy and legislative planning. She also works with the Legislature to support the agency’s goals.

Julie has more than 20 years of experience working on policies that improve the lives of people in Washington.

Before joining DCYF:

• She was Deputy Director at the Washington State Budget and Policy Center 
• She worked as an instructor at the University of Washington School of Social Work 

Julie has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Washington.

She also serves on her local school board in Tumwater. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, gardening, and baking sourdough bread.
